In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back. –Albert Camus, The Stranger
What does Women's History Month mean to you?
Women's History month holds a very dear place in my heart! I am so proud of all the women who came before us and paved the way forward for simple things that we take for granted today. We should celebrate them and help to normalize women in fields that are traditionally dominantly male. This is one of the many ways that we can inspire the future generation to be big dreamers and really innovate ways forward.
Having an entire month dedicated to Women's history creates so much more awareness for everyone in our society. It helps to inspire young girls to dream big, imagine the future and explore the option of limitless possibilities. We should not create barriers where they shouldn't exist, by bringing awareness of Women's History Month, we are slowly removing those barriers.

Try not to become a man (or woman) of success, but rather try to become a man (or woman) of value. – Albert Einstein
About Sanya
While I hold my Bachelor’s in Electrical & Computer Engineering, I found my passion when I started working in the lubrication sector and was introduced to reliability. After my introduction, I did my Masters in Engineering Asset Management and completed my dissertation on Lubrication failures in critical equipment in an Ammonia Complex.
Since quality is very important to me, I soon realized that I was not giving my best quality to my thesis back in 2017 and left my corporate job to finish my thesis full time. During this time, I started reaching out to industry professionals as I couldn’t find relevant factual information online. Soon, I realized that the knowledge and information was available but it was a matter of connecting with the right people. Strategic Reliability Solutions Ltd was formed through the vision of bringing the experts and quality information to people who needed it!
Last year, I launched my first book called “Lubrication Degradation Mechanisms, A complete guide” with my publisher, CRC press. Additionally, I am the first person (and first female) in my country (Trinidad & Tobago) and by extension the Caribbean to attain an ICML MLE (Machinery Lubrication Engineer) certification!
