What does Women's History Month mean to you?
Women’s history month is a great opportunity to recognize the influence women have on family and society, and to recognize the amazing efforts and sacrifices all women have gone through to have the voice they have today.
I also see it as a great platform to talk about current issues women are facing in 2021, like enhanced levels of stress due to COVID-19. The pandemic has had a negative impact on women's mental health as we continue to see significant increases in anxiety and depression levels with women more than in men. Women are expected to continue to maintain the household by being the family caregiver, and navigate through home-schooling, all this on top of working from home, for those who are employed. This is something that we need to talk about and emphasize the value of taking care of ourselves and each other.
